Schoolwork: Creative response
Here’s what I did for my creative response this past week in class.
Explanation: the request was to create an artistic response to anything from the classwork. I naturally had too many feelings and too many reactions to boil it down to one. So, I created these:
Everyone passed them around. Here’s what they were about:
Box 1: J.S. Bach – Actus Tragicus. Text:
This is what the soul’s voice feels like
A vibration through the spine
Heartbeat syllables each saying
I am here
Are you here too?
And what angels sound like when they say YES
Box 2: Classical Aestheticism – nature and wealth.
Box 3: Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto Adagio. Text:
Open palm to help you up
Its okay you can come up
Don’t fear
Never fear
Box 4: on Anne-Sophie von Otter in Poppea. Text:
You are nothing but sweet when you sing to me
Cries echo
Presses flesh until it grows and bounces back again
Your voice is making space where none was before
Limitless empty to echo into
Box 5: portrait of Glenn Gould.
